Headed out to deer camp tomorrow at 0 dark thirty for a week of hunting, eating, drinking and just hanging around camp.  Should be fun.  Opening day is saturday.

We'll be in western Lake County Oregon camped at about 5000' in a meadow with a trout stream running right past camp.  The hunting areas are 500' to 1000' higher within one to five miles from camp.

Photos when I return.

:Stop Hillary!: I'll be carrying my Ruger .270 with a Leupold 2x7 scope...

A little garlic, a little butter, dredge in flour and chicken fry

Bambi's gone!

bambi doesn't get shot that would not be sporting, but now as for bambi's mom and dad, yes those are fair game and delicious

Get some deer for yourself... Good organic, grass fed, unrefined protein there.

On the USFS road to Hagar Mountain and the Sycan Marsh...

USFS sign along the way...

Sitting around camp waiting for dinner...

The Silver Lake Ranger Station...over there in the trees.

Hmmm...I see there's a spot on my camera lens.

Oh yeah...we saw four to six deer every day but only two bucks and they proved to be "wonderfully difficult".  Once again we didn't kill any deer.

But we had a great camping trip!
