By Seattle Times news services ST. LOUIS — Conservative radio talk-show host Rush Limbaugh has been dropped from a group seeking to buy the St. Louis Rams. Limbaugh was to be a limited partner in a bid led by St. Louis Blues chairman Dave Checketts, but Checketts said in a statement Wednesday that Limbaugh's participation had "become a complication and a distraction" in the group's pursuit of the Rams. Checketts said he will have no further comment on the bid process. Limbaugh said on his radio show he had been inundated with e-mails from listeners who supported him in the bid. "This is not about the NFL. It's not about the St. Louis Rams. It's not about me," Limbaugh said. "This is about the ongoing effort by the left in this country, wherever you find them, in the media, the Democrat Party, or wherever, to destroy conservatism, to prevent the mainstreaming of anyone who is prominent as a conservative. "Therefore, this is about the future of the United States of America and what kind of country we're going to have." Limbaugh's bid ran into opposition from within the image-conscious NFL when Colts owner Jim Irsay said he would vote against the radio personality. Commissioner Roger Goodell said Limbaugh's "divisive" comments would not be tolerated from any NFL insider. Before getting dropped, Limbaugh said he had no intention of backing out. "I'm not even thinking of caving," he said. "I am not a caver. Pioneers take the arrows. We are pioneers. It's a sad thing that our country, over 200 years old now, needs pioneers all over again, but we do." Comment: I guess Michael Vick can electrocute innocent dogs and get welcomed back into the NFL with open arms but a guy who expressed an opinion (and was fired for it and yes, it was stupid) can't engage in the purchase as a limited partner of an NFL team. This is PC liberal bullshit yet again. I've listened to this guy for over two decades and have never heard him utter a racist statement. His commentary about McNabb was stupid, he injected politics into sport and he paid a price for it but his comment was not racist. The other crap that has been printed attributing racist statements to the man are just that, crap. He is suing that black jackass from ESPN (Jason whatever) because he LIED in print and it was a total smear job and character assassination hit piece. I'm sick and tired of blacks like Jessah Ah Jackson getting away with racial slurs (as in New York City is "Hymie Town") and Al (not so) Sharpton accusing white cops of beating and raping a black girl (was a lie) while others are held to higher standards and stupid yet harmless comments are used to ruin a persons life or ambitions. Hell, Obama called his white grandmother a "typical white racist" and got away with it. Talk about double standards.

There's no such thing as "racism" it's a false concept. Like a smile on a dog. When a black or latino takes pride in his kind, it's wonderful. But when Rush Limbaugh does the same it's racism. Is that how it goes, Chuck? Did I pass the libtard test of social consciousness?

I listen to Rush Limbo when I get the chance...and know that most of his critics don't. They rely on one or two soundbites gleaned from 20 years worth of talking on air 3 hrs/day, 5 days/week to "prove" he's a racist. Calling somebody a racist is about as bad as it gets these days. But Limbo's remark that the NFL game he was watching, where fights between players after the whistle were rampant, was "like a meeting of the Crips and Bloods without the weapons" wasn't racist. It was a realistic analogy founded on fact. Two thirds of the NFL is black and quite a few of them are felons with criminal records... .
